Description of the Fund
The Metropolitan African Wealth Creator is a socially responsible fund that invests in projects, businesses, organisations and funds that encourage and enhance growth and development in South Africa. The fund invests in a diverse spread of listed and unlisted assets, including vehicles that deliver basic services to previously disadvantaged communities, green-field ventures and economic expansion projects. The fund is not structured to comply with Regulation 28 of the Pension Funds Act.
Fund Objective
The fund aims to achieve real returns over the longer term at an acceptable level of risk by investing in a range of socially responsible investments that contribute to growth and development in disadvantaged areas. The formal performance objective is to achieve a return of CPI + 4% pa over a rolling 5 year period.
